NASHUA, N.H. -- The Suns pulled within a run in the eighth inning, but couldn't complete the rally.

Pittsfield dug a hole in the first when it surrendered three runs off four hits in the first. That erased an early 1-0 lead created when Rob McLam scored on an error in the top of the first.

The Suns just had four hits the rest of the way, two of them coming in the eighth. That's when Ryan Deitrich and Brendan Slattery singled before Jimmy Ricoy came home on a bases-loaded walk. Pittsfield stranded nine baserunners.

Michael RoBards took the loss, giving up nine hits and three runs over six innings.
