Tornado Plows Through Northeast Oklahoma

?

Around 1:30 Thursday morning, Lisa Johnson found herself and her grandchildren flying through the air.

"It was just raining and it got worse and then this wind and then the hail and wind again and the next thing I know, we're being flung," said Johnson. "I was laying on the couch here and I got up and went in the bedroom in there. I got my granddaughters up and I said, we need to go."

Her home was demolished by what meteorologists believe was a tornado.

"The next thing I know, the glass comes through and we get thrown back and I just remember yelling 'hang on' and the only thing I can remember saying out loud was 'God, please protect my family,'" she said.

Her prayers were answered.

"After everything was over and I see the roof completely gone, we should have went through the roof. We should never made it through. That, I know. I know it was an act of God to protect us and we should have been sucked through. There's no doubt in my mind," added Lisa.

Thankfully, her family was saved from mother nature's wrath. But, Lisa believes it could have been worse, if not for a phone call from her friend - she would have never known her home was in the tornado's path. Lisa believes that Butler and surrounding areas need more warnings.

While her home can be replaced, what really matters to Lisa her family and that they're still safe.
