This is the main reason why proper parenting requires new parents to cut down on their alcohol intake or avoid it altogether. According to the study, 28% of new mothers and 13% of new fathers admitted to drinking on a daily basis. The study also found that 22% of new mothers increased their alcohol intake immediately after giving birth for the first time.
