Swix Sport USA has committed to be the title sponsor of the American Birkebeiner nordic ski races in a two-year deal that will include marketing and merchandise branding for the 41-year-old event.
The equipment and apparel company replaces Subaru as the leading sponsor for the ski events, the largest in North America.

Swix will produce a line of Birkie branded clothing and create a Swix concept area at the Birkie expo.

The 41st American Birkebeiner will be held in Hayward on Feb. 22, with related events stretching from the 20th to the 23rd. More than 10,000 skiers are expected to participate, helping generate more than $1 million in revenue for the non-profit American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation.
